A Mad Week In Soccer

Well what a week that was! Man Citeh’s ‘shock’ defeat to Cardiff started it all off before we got shocks and bizarre goings-on in the Rumbelows Cup and then we had both Swansea and Tottingham continuing their dominance over Europa League opponents.

In the Littlewoods Cup, there were a few upsets as Crystal Palace lost to Bristol City, Peterborough thrashed Reading, and Fulham only just about beat Burton Albion when the game went to penalties.

Over at Huish Park, Birmingham and Yeovil came to blows as Yeovil failed to fulfill the gentlemans agreement of giving the ball back after it was kicked out for an injury by the Birmingham keeper. Their centre back promptly lobbed the keeper from 30 yards to equalise 2 minutes into injury time.

Having taken the lead in the first half of extra time, they then allowed Birmingham to walk the ball in unimpeded at the start of the second half. Birmingham eventually won the tie on penalties, with the winning shot initially being saved but then went in after hitting the keeper!

In the Fantasy Soccerball Mini League there hasn’t been much movement over the last few days, but here’s what the table looks like anyway.
