The Transfer Window Cometh

Tuesday sees the start of the first transfer window and no doubt managers will be clambering to offload their injured players and bring in players who are regularly playing well to start scoring some decent points.

Popular players (as in those who have been selected for a large percentage of teams, not well liked players!) with injuries that are currently keeping them from playing include Jermain Defoe who is out for two months and Bobby Zamora who has a broken leg. At Arsenal, Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott are both out and so is Fat Frank at Chelsea while Steve Harper of Newcastle is going to be absend for a few months having suffered a broken collar bone!

For a full list of current crocked players take a look at the Physio Room page.

Another thing to consider when making transfers is whether it is worth getting rid of players who haven’t hit form yet (Torres) and bring in fresh blood, or stick with them in the hope that they suddenly come to life. Wayne Rooney has been crap so far this season, scoring only 10 points. But as allegations of him banging hookers dies down will he find his goal scroing touch?

The window will be open for nearly two weeks, so although it’s best not to make your transfers straight away (there’s nothing worth than making your transfers only for on of those players to then get injured!), it is worth starting to plan on who you are going to bring in to your team.
