Montenegro came to Wembley and put eleven players behind the ball along with the substitutes, manager, goalkeeping coach, nutritionists, trainers and first aiders to thwart England’s tepid attacks in last night’s game. They then had the audacity to come closer to scoring than England when Milan Jovanovic hit the crossbar from 25 yards.
The 0-0 bore draw means that Montenegro sit at the top of Group G, 3 points ahead of England. Not bad for the team ranked 40th in the world at the moment!
Elsewhere, Wales suffered yet another defeat, Scotland nearly drew with Spain and in Italy, the match was called off after only 6 minutes because of crowd trouble.
So attentions turn back to the Premier League as normal service resumes for the Fantasy Soccerball Mini League this weekend. The transfer window closes on Saturday morning so there’s only a couple of days to sort out who’s getting dumped and who’s going to be brought in to turn round the fortunes of your team. Don’t forget to take a look at the injury list in the Physion Room to make sure you’re not bringing in some newly-crocked players.
There are still plenty of points to be scored this month as there is European games, 3 weekends of league games as well as the fourth round of the League/Milk/Littlewoods/Rumbelows/Coca-Cola/Worthington/Carling Cup which still has 10 Premier League Teams in it.
As it’s been a while since there was some action, here’s a reminder as to what the Fantasy Soccerball MotM table looks like for October:
