January’s Manager of the Month Results

So the month comes to an end with John Terry scoring away (although this time it’s on the pitch), Shrek scoring his 100th Premier League goal and Portsmouth not scoring at all! All eyes today turn to the transfer deadline day as teams go about looking to fill in the gaps of their squad with some loan players and dodgy signings.

But our attention is drawn to the January results for the Fantasy Soccerball Manager of the Month competition. Last week, Dobson First XI and Dobson Second XI were making up ground on the top two teams and were the only teams really capable of catching them. With the top two teams only separated by three points it would come down to the wire as to who would take the monthly prize.

Dyslexia Untied were in pole position on before the midweek games and with a score of 93 points, including Rob Green’s haul of 21 points on Saturday, they looked to have done enough to win it. But Rabid Vienna out-scored them by five points and so they take the prize for January!

The full table for January looks like this:

January's Manager of the Month

FFC All Stars take the wooden spoon for the second month running, Post Room Boys also score less than 100 points and so they’ll be looking to make some shrewd changes during the transfer window to improve their scores.

In the overall table, Rabid Vienna moved up four places to overtake Mollix Munty at the top. The teams in the top 5 don’t change but they do move around a bit, while Fringe Putters and Dobson First XI both move up one place each. The full table looks thus:

So now the Dream Team transfer window is open it’s time to look at who to dump out of your team, and who to bring in, although you may want to wait until the transfer window closes! Wouldn’t want you to bring in a player who then goes out on loan to a Turkish team!
