And So It Begins

So after 3 months of a football-less summer (we won’t include the league games last week!) the Premiership finally got under way at the weekend and with it the Fantasy Soccerball dream team league.

Arsenal look to be the team to beat having thrashed Everton 6-1 at Goodison Park. It seems that David Moyes’ decision to play Joleon Lescott (who said he ‘wasn’t in the right frame of mind’) may have backfired as the Toffee’s defence disintegrated quicker than England’s batsmen last week!

Elsewhere, champions Man Yoo scraped a 1-0 victory against Birmingham, Chelsea scored a late winner against Hull, Liverpool went down 2-1 at Tottingham, Villa lost at home to Wigan, each of the league’s new boys failed to get a point, Fulham won away from the Cottage and Darren Bent scored on his debut to give Sunderland 3 points.

In the Fantasy Soccerball league WHU Are Ya are the first table toppers of the season with 87 points followed by New manager please and FFC All Stars on 55 and 46 points respectively.

The first table of the new season looks a little bit like this:

There’s another round of games this week so expect the table to look quite a bit different on Thursday.
